Grief and Trauma
Grief and trauma have the power to change the way we see, feel, and experience the world. Whether you have lost someone you love, lived through a traumatic event, or experienced ongoing emotional pain, the impact can extend far beyond the moment itself. It can affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, physical health, and sense of safety, often long after others expect you to have "moved on."
There is no right or wrong way to experience grief or trauma. Everyone's journey is different, and healing does not follow a timetable ... progress is not linear.
You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by sadness, anxiety, anger, guilt or numbness. You may struggle with intrusive memories, difficulty sleeping, heightened emotional reactions, or a sense of disconnection from yourself and those around you.
Life feels like it has been divided into "before".... and "after".
You do not have to carry that burden alone.
Therapy provides a safe, compassionate and confidential space where your experiences can be explored at your own pace, without judgement or pressure. Together, we work to understand how grief or trauma has affected your life, unpack, and process the emotions and memories that may feel overwhelming, and develop healthy ways to regain a sense of safety, stability and connection.
Healing does not mean forgetting what happened or pretending that your loss or experiences did not matter. Some losses remain deeply significant, and some experiences leave lasting marks.
Recovery is about learning how to carry those experiences in a way that no longer defines or controls your life.
It is about finding meaning, rebuilding hope, and creating space for joy, connection and purpose alongside what has been lost.
While you cannot always choose the events that shape your life, you can choose how you respond to them moving forward. Healing requires courage, patience and a willingness to engage with the process, but it is possible. With the right support, the pain that once felt all-consuming can become something you no longer have to face every day on your own.
Whether your grief is recent or many years old, whether your trauma stems from a single event or a lifetime of experiences, healing is possible. You deserve a life where your grief and trauma are no longer the controlling narrative - it is a part of your story, but it does not have write the next chapter.
